MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY

NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE

Make A Difference Day is a National Day of Service held on the fourth Saturday in October.  The Volunteer Center has  held a community wide food drive in 2008 and 2009 as our Make A Difference Day service projects.

Make A Difference Day 2008

The Columbus High School Diversity Leadership members and Lakeview Honor Society Students helped with the 2008 Food Drive. The students collected food items, accepted and sorted donations. Collection sites were set up at Hy-Vee, Wal-Mart, and downtown Columbus.

Over 1200 pounds of food was collected and given to Platte County Food Pantry, Salvation Army, and Simon House.
