Columbus Food Banks to Donate to This Thanksgiving

October 22, 2015 / volunteer / Volunteer

There are hundreds of your neighbors in Columbus, Ohio who won’t have enough food to feed their families this Thanksgiving. If you’re fortunate enough to have enough to eat, have some time on your hands, or have extra food or funds to donate to those who are struggling this season, here are a few places where your help is needed.

If you’re interested in giving donations of food, clothing, resources, or money, first call the organization to see where your donations are most needed. Many of these locations receive their food and goods from larger food bank organizations who distribute the donations where they can in Columbus.

Or, if you’d rather donate your time and services by helping to prepare and serve meals in the Columbus community this Thanksgiving, call smaller distributing organizations like local churches. They’ll likely need as many hands as possible.

There’s usually a volunteer or donation coordinator, so visit their websites and give them a call to see how your services are best utilized, and when your time is needed most. This helps them stay organized and ready to help the hungry in Columbus.

What better way to give thanks this year than by giving back to your community? Whether you’re religious or not, find one of these nearby food banks in Columbus to donate or volunteer at this Thanksgiving. They welcome your help!
